Liturgical - Dean Ludwig works with architects, building committees, and liturgical designers to create beautiful and meaningful church furnishings that are both liturgically and architecturally appropriate.

Liturgical Artist Statement - My desire as an artist is to use the creative gifts that I have been given for the greater service of the world and the greater glory of God.

One of a Kind - Individuals, churches, museums, businesses and other institutions have turned to Dean Ludwig to create unique pieces for their collections.

Rocking Chairs - Dean Ludwig’s distinctive rocking chairs are as sensuous and comfortable as they are beautiful. The flowing lines and joinery as well as the hand-rubbed oil and beeswax finish (eight coats) invite you to touch, sit, and experience the hand-made rocking chairs' delights.

Rocking Chairs Artist Statement - Rocking chairs are complex to build and challenging to properly balance.  Each piece on my chairs is shaped with hand tools—there is no other way of accomplishing the flowing shapes and joinery.

Tables - Dean Ludwig’s solid hardwood tables enhance the experience of those who gather around them, whether for casual meals, formal dining, or important business decisions. Dean’s unique designs and his attention to wood grains, joinery details, and hand-rubbed finishes results in custom tables that give distinction to any room.

Home - Located near Toledo, Ohio, Dean Ludwig creates distinctive, custom furniture and furnishings for homes, worship spaces and offices. Dean’s work has received local, national and international recognition. Dean’s work has been commissioned by individuals, churches, museums, businesses and other institutions across the US and Canada.

The Influence of Sam Maloof - Dean’s custom rocking chairs are in the Maloof tradition but with noticeable modifications in appearance and feel that he has incorporated over time. “My rockers clearly pay tribute to the man I consider to be the greatest woodworker of the 20th century, Sam Maloof; but my rockers also continue to evolve their own identity. They will probably continue to evolve for the rest of my life.”

Public Collections - Dean’s liturgical furnishings are enjoyed by the faithful in cities across the United States and Canada.   He has created one-of-a-kind entrance features for schools, conference tables for businesses, and a memorial desk for the docents’ library at the Toledo Museum of Art.
